The badminton squad train weekly using the Hills Road Sports and Tennis Centre on Purbeckneed help to write an essay Road. The main hall provides space for game play whilst the gym is available for additional training, fitted with a free weights set alongside resistance machines and cardio equipment. Matches generally occur on wednesday afternoons between 3-5pm; all team members will be allocated these periods as ‘free’ on their timetable to facilitate this. The squad is unique as they are independent with no set coach, instead the U6 captains lead sessions and formulate their own training plan which creates a strong team ethos and develops self-motivation. In recent years, they have been dominant at regional level in addition to gaining numerous national titles in the annual AoC Sports National Tournament during the last 5 years.
